Jonny and Sam's script project

INT. BEDROOM HOUSE- DAY
BUZZ of the alarm clock, we see MARVIN as he reaches over and SLAMS the SNOOZE BUTTON. The alarm clock shows 7.45. We hear another BUZZ at 8.00. He presses SNOOZE again BUZZ, 8.15. MARVIN yawns and finally gets up.
MARVIN goes into his wardrobe and GRABS some clothes, gets changed and STUMBLES while putting his trousers on.
He takes another YAWN and leaves his room.
MARVIN
MUM CAN YOU PUT THE KETTLE ON?
MUM
YES DARLING, DO YOU WANT COFFEE?
MARVIN
YES PLEASE
INT. BATHROOM HOUSE- DAY
MARVIN runs into the bathroom, SPLASHES water on his face, gets ready in front of the mirror and goes back downstairs.
INT. KITCHEN HOUSE- DAY
Marvin enters the kitchen SLOWLY and MUMBLES to his MUM.

MARVIN ENTERS his CAR and begins his JOURNEY to UNIVERSITY. He HEARS a song on the radio that he loves and TURNS UP THE VOLUME.
He pulls away and begins to DANCE along in his seat.
In his REAR VIEW MIRRIOR he catches sight of his MUM waving from the FRONT DOOR holding his LUNCH BOX. He STOPS and REVERSES.

THANKS MUM, HAVE A GOOD DAY

E. MAIN ROAD– DAY (20 MINUTES LATER)

Marvin is driving OVER the SPEED LIMIT when a BADGER runs out of the WOODS. He tries to SLOW DOWN but SKIDS and HITS the BADGER. We hear a LOUD SQUEEL.
MARVIN
SHIT!!!
He PULLS OVER picks up the DEAD BADGER and places it by the SIDE OF THE ROAD.
I/E. UNIVERSITY CAR PARK – DAY
MARVIN, who is now LATE, pulls into the UNIVERSITY GROUNDS and wait for the BARRIER to LIFT.
He REPEATEDLY pressed the button on the INTERCOM but it appears not to be working. In FRUSTRATION, he REVERSED about 20 yards, and SLAMS his foot on the ACCELERATOR, BREAKING the BARRIER and creates a LOUD BANG.
DRIVING AROUND the CAR PARK for a further 15 minutes, he CANNOT find a PARKING SPACE and so decides to park on the PAVEMENT.
He RUSHES into class and leaves his CAR…
… to find when he returns it has been TOWED AWAY.

MARVIN COMMITS SUICIDE

Final two ideas
Idea 1
Young girl gets kidnapped from her Mother and Farther, they are rich and run their own business. The man who kidnapped the girl rings the parents and order them to give him money to return the child. They meet in a field to swap the money for there loved daughter.
Idea 2
Sam is 19 years old who has an addiction to drugs and alchol, his parents cant cope with him anymore so they decide to kick him out and make him live on the streets, while living on the streets he meets some one else in the same situation similar ages, Hes name is mark. They spend time together begin to become really close. One night Mark took to many drugs and died in his sleep, due to this Sam is so upset and decides to sort his act out and goes to a church group and has a meeting with the vicar to become a Christian and help others.
I prefer Idea 2 as its more simple and would fit in a 10 min short film

Here is mine and Neills idea for a short 10 minute film.
Title: Race
Genre: Drama/Action
The Idea: Set in London 2018, the government has set forth an act to separate all races into different areas in which they are not allowed to leave. The penalty is death.
Daniel and Nikki are a happily married couple until they get separated due to the act. In the heat of the moment Daniel swears he will see his wife again. After Daniel gets transferred to the “White District” he quickly becomes friends with another man; Matthew who has also went through a similar experience. Secretly meeting underground in London Daniel and Matthew create an army to fight back against the government in order to get back to their families and restore order. In a desperate attempt for freedom, Daniel and Matthew’s army devise a plan to attack the government. This turns into a full-blown riot against White District and the government.
Unknown to Daniel and Matthew the other districts have also created secret armies and when they see the images on the news they break out and join in the fight for freedom. As Nikki watches the news in shock she sees a familiar face and breaks down in sadness unable to do anything about seeing her husband Daniel being beat to death by the authorities. Through the monumental riot the world see what Britain has come too and the government is forced to step down, Nikki continues in her husbands footsteps and takes control of the fight to restore order.

Theme: It takes one person to truly believe in something worth fighting for but their message never fully gets across until someone dies for their cause.
Characters: Daniel – White British male ex army in his 30's. Daniel is a hardworking, brave individual who loves his wife, and wants to have a family. He left the Army after finishing his last tour of Iraq where his brother was killed.
Matthew – White British male in his 20s. Matthew was adopted at a young age by a family of a different race and was separated from them when the new government came into power. Matthew is a smart individual who has just finished university-studying Law.
Nikki – Black British female who is married to Daniel. Nikki is very protective over her husband and wanted him to leave the army before he actually did. Nikki is an experienced midwife and good with kids, she also wants to have a family.
Setting: London 2018, the BNP have taken over the government and forced all races living in Britain to be separated into different Districts around the country according to their skin colour.

Spaced Synopsis
Spaced is a situation comedy that follows the lives of 5 individual twenty somethings. The two main characters are Tim ( who has recently been kicked out by his ex-girlfriend called Sarah) and Daisy (has a boyfriend in hull), they meet randomly in a greasy cafe in London both looking for a place to live.
After days of looking they found a relatively cheap flat in North London however it was for a professional couple. So Tim and Daisy come up with a plan to move in pretending to be a couple.
After learning about each others history they go meet the the landlady called Marsha. Marsha is in her 50s who is addicted to drinking and smoking, she dresses a lot younger than she should. After they take a tour of the flat the landlady interviews Tim and Daisy to see if their suitable to live there. Marsha was happy to let them stay and could move in when ever they were ready.
Tim and Daisy have a very strange neighbour called Brian who is twenty something and interested in strange art like smashing eggs and talking to his pictures.
Another interesting character is Mike who is obsessed with the army and always dresses up as a solider and plays computer games. They also share a pet dog called Collin.
Spaced has combination of styles such as Drama, Surreal, Slapstick, Atmospheric and relevant to people of that age sharing flats.It also has pop culture references for example Scooby Doo and Reservoir dogs.
The comedy is realistic with a slight twist, its based in North London and has a Urban setting. Throughout out the episodes the characters go through life adventures and their relationships change towards each other.
Spaced is a half hour episode situation comedy which has 7 episodes in a series.

Spaced pitch
Based in a North London Flat, "Spaced" is a sitcom comedy following 5 unique twenty-somethings as they take on life adventures. Containing slapstick humour and drama.
